Not in Chicago. Everyone here is just as compliant and brain dead as possible. I live in a garden apartment, I see people coming and going all day. People walk to the laundry or to get their mail with masks on.
I feel like I'm living in a simulation full of NPCs that I rarely interact with.
the state mandate just started here like yesterday or whatever... have gotten away without a mask in 2 gas stations and a liquor store. had to show the liquor store guy my screenshot of the mandate showing the medical exemption (he thought the was only a religious exemption)...
It varies wildly in Seattle. Capitol Hill is nearly 100% compliance outdoors. It's fucking creepy. Downtown was more like 90%. I see less than 50% wearing masks outside in South Seattle. A shocking amount of people wear them while hiking.
Inside stores, most are wearing masks, but a lot of people wear them below their nose, and some even pull them down once inside. I picked up a pizza the other day, the employees weren't masked and didn't ask us to mask up.
Only a tiny minority are wearing masks walking through my apartment building--even the employees don't wearing them, unless they're giving a tour.
Houston suburbs here. Most people ignoring the governors mandate, a bunch of county governments and law enforcement agencies across Texas have straight up refused to enforce. Businesses still have the signs up, but they're mostly ignored.
In Las Vegas it's a mixed bag. Some places no one wears/no one cares. In others they're taking temperatures at restaurants. It's funny - it's so hot outside, they have you sit in a little cooldown area until your temp normalizes. Ridiculous.
At best I've been refusing to shop anywhere requiring them. So far absolutely nowhere I've been in upstate SC is enforcing it. I'd say people wearing them is 50/50 but I'm also convinced theres a lot of people who are just going other places to shop or ordering online to avoid the possible confrontation.

TLDR still not doing the mask
No, people are meekly complying because nobody gives a fuck.

Went out to a bar/restaurant last night in the Los Angeles area (SFV) and the only people wearing masks were the people working there.
Bar was packed too. They moved all of the tables outside so it was basically a Summer Sidewalk Party.
Also, lots of black folks there last night and everyone was getting along just fine.
