I hope you don't feel like a loser. Most of us lack money at some point in life. That doesn't make us a "loser".

I try not to judge people based on their economic circumstances. I think most Americans are poor or financially struggling at some point in their lives.

I get the sense that a lot of Conservatives are prejudiced against poor people, thinking that they are lazy or made bad decisions and a lot of Liberals are prejudiced against wealthy people believing they are greedy or exploitative. It's like that part in the Bible where there is a man born blind and the people ask Jesus if the blind man is blind because he sinned or because his parents sinned and Jesus responds that the man is not blind due to any sin but so that the Glory of God may be manifested by Christ restoring his site.

Can agree with that. You hear certain people constantly saying "if you work hard you"ll be successful in America. While America is the land of opportunity, there is no garauntee for anything in life .

I have seen a lot of hard working people who have hit some bad luck, had changes beyond their control ruin their business, or took some calculated risks that did not pay off for them.

America and hard work garauntee you can try. Only G-d can garauntee success.

I get the part about being practical ("be a doer not a dreamer"). But I don't think I agree with staying with a job you hate. What's the point of having a job that you hate?

I'm not sure why people here use that term so much. I think they like to use terms that they feel are a bit over-censored.
