I said all the things I was supposed to say after the election. That this was a fascist takeover- that Trump would take away our basic rights. All the classics. Then while Trump proved to be anything but fascist, the hysteria on the far left grew, and their paranoia invaded the mainstream liberal hivemind at alarming rates.

I was lucky to latch on to some of Andrew Yang’s ideas last year. And I have to give him a lot of credit for showing me the humanity of Trump voters. Some combination of his push for unconditional empathy and the rise of communist bullshit helped me drop my anger for the “other side”. Coincidentally, my vocal support for Yang was what caused my old lefty friends to start calling me “nazi”.

The riots, and the response of mainstream media and D politicians to them, have been the nail in the coffin. I can’t enable this shit. I love America, like any decent liberal SHOULD. And that’s why I’m 99% sure Trump needs to stay in office. I believe he needs the freedom of a 2nd term to bring the hammer down on these anti-American assholes.

I’m writing this because I think a lot of old school liberals are feeling the same way but are afraid to speak their minds. Perhaps they didn’t have the luxury of following the Yang campaign, but I can guarantee, whatever rational minds remain on the liberal side are thinking the same thing. I believe a silent force of disaffected liberals will show up for Trump in November, and soon after, we will celebrate the demise of leftist authoritarianism.
