I recently started a list of TV shows, games, and movies where a female character explicitly calls themselves or another female character a badass, because I've seen it happen so many times that it honestly annoys me. I only have one thing on it right now (The Last of Us 2) because I just made the list after seeing it so many times in other shows (pretty much all of the Arrowverse shows, all the time, for instance) that it pissed me off enough to commit to cataloging it.
The part that gets me is that it's all show, not tell. She's a badass because we say she is, and all the male characters are spineless pushovers.
