The sound https://youtu.be/qFJO2L_kJr4?t=11
The report https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/07/breaking-update-austin-police-release-driver-shot-killed-antifa-protester-garrett-foster-saturday-night-protest/

Don't know why they would lie, but they are lying. Also, GWP has a still from a vid in the article, does anyone have that vid? How the hell is not out there viral?

EDIT: Wanted to add, the lack of video on this might mean that Garrett DID fire first, if I was an Antifa terrorist like the ones surrounding that car, and had video of that, I probably would delete it instead of trying to upload it, right?

Honestly despite being told those first 5 weren’t AK shots, they damn sure sound like it. I had to walk back my earlier assertion that those were definitely 7.62x39mm shots. Now I’m no weapons expert but I have an SKS and am very, very familiar with the sound of those rounds being fired. It’s a distinct sound and hard but not impossible to mistake.

I did hear a single shot fired after the three we all assume was return fire. The car was taken as evidence so I suspect it was shot. Maybe the driver had a big brass pair and grabbed the muzzle of the AK, pointed it forward at the interior of the car and returned fire, then the last single shot (it blends in with the three round salvo) was the idiot protestor that shot at the car popping a round off.

Can’t really tell and with so many phones there recording someone is hiding something. No way a center of attention like that didn’t have 100 cameras on it.

Right? How many people are going to these rallies STRICTLY for the purpose of getting the next viral vid for their channel or whatever? I want the vid that still was taking from. I also want to know how those vids are being suppressed so quick.

On that 3rd shot, listen to it again, it sounds to me like another rifle, further off than the first two guns. My experience with gun noises comes from the range I go to, indoor, lot of rifle traffic in there, and hunting. Those first 5 shots were a rifle, period.

Yeah and I agree with the last muffled shot that blended in with the three rounds. Sounds like it’s further away like way down the road. I still think the first 5 sound like a rifle too; not just a rifle but that AK. I have a couple rifles myself but like I said I’m no expert. I just know that distinct AK/SKS sound and what I heard is pretty spot on.

This is really bad - we had someone essentially try to intimidate with a firearm and not just a handgun - a fucking AK, shoot at an innocent civilian, and then when the civilian shot back another protestor tried to kill them again from range.

This is literally a powder keg waiting to blow.

My first thought on hearing it (and I'm no expert, either) was that the first shots didn't seem like A. a handgun and B. a handgun inside a car. But is it possible the second 3 shots sound different because the person recording had moved a little further away and had the camera/phone in a different position? I definitely think the first shots came from a rifle, but trying to play devil's advocate instead of leaping to conclusions.

While the position of the microphone certainly changed, it did not change in a way that near perfectly created distinct AK reports, and then distinct small caliber handgun reports.

The microphone also did not suddenly move 50 yards away, like I saw some other shill suggesting yesterday. The guy recording ran 5 steps away over the course of a brief moment, and hid behind a piece of structure. Just enough time for the patriot in the car to draw his handgun to defend himself against the commie firing the AK at him.

The mic position change could have resulted in less muffled handgun reports initially, then more muffled handgun reports afterwards, but that is not what we are hearing. In fact the handgun reports were not even all that muffled. All reports were captured quite clearly.

Rifle fire and handgun fire are so different sounding and we have the telltale signature of both here, clearly delineated. This is without question an incident where the rifle fired first.

I'll eat my hat if conclusive evidence to the contrary emerges.

Gee, surrounded by tall concrete buildings you would be shocked to hear an echo?

It’s weird that you’re so passionately stomping around in these threads about this particular subject acting like a child

Those tall concrete buildings would have had to have been MILES away for the echo to be that slow, echoes don't change cadence.

EDIT: Did the math, the buildings would've had to have been at a distance of 5,645 feet.

Supposedly the driver had a tokarev, so any sound analysis goes to shit when that comes into play but I've only heard anecdotal evidence about that so far, nothing official.
