Saw a great discussion here on Benedict Arnold (and unfair comparisons to Shifty-Schiff) earlier and thought it'd be fun to have a book suggestion thread focused on American History (maybe different fiction/non-fiction genres in the future). At least until we get a books.win.

A man named Page Smith wrote a wonderful narrative-type History of USA in the early 70s. He was, at the time, a Professor of History at UC Santa Cruz, before that institution went to the dogs. Highly recommended.
