Dude pushing the lady in the wheelchair, his wife, got killed this weekend at a peaceful protest in Austin. The protest was so peaceful, in fact, that the man pictured, Garrett, brought a loaded AK47 with him and was displaying it. As they so commonly do, he was part of a crowd that stopped a random persons vehicle and he approached with his loaded weapon. Unfortunately for him, the driver also had a gun and was quicker and more willing to use it. Garrett was laid out dead on the street, his wife is now a widow, and guy who killed him was recently released from custody after turning himself in.
Why is the media still going with the version of the story where he was just "holding" the gun. There are first 5 rifle shots (you can tell by the sound if you've ever fired one) and then 3 pistol caliber shots.
But the media are still playing the hands up in the air "WE DONT KNOW WHO FIRED FIRST..." nonsense.
APD is feeding them lies too. The truth will out soon though.

This is an uncommonly well-written recap. If only the fucking news could do that.
