Read "Ordinary Men". It's about how seemingly ordinary men got to the point of gassing jews. Its scary how easy it is for people to go along with it and don't be so confident you wouldn't either. See death/murder every day, develop a hatred for your enemy (e.g. "the only good commie is a dead commie"), develop a loyalty to your friends, reflect on all the other morally ambiguous atrocities you've already committed, remember your country/family is dependent on you, your sense of pride to not let others down, the need for a paycheck... Under the right conditions just about anyone is capable of acts of horror.

Thing is, I'd never hide behind "I was just following orders!" If I was, let's say, putting every leftist up against a wall and shooting them all, one by one, and I later stood trial for that... I'd get up on the stand and say "Shit yeah I did that, and it was the right thing to do, and the only reason I'm on trial is because you're all pussies who are too afraid to ADMIT that it was the right thing to do. So fuck off and execute me already."

If you're going to do something, do it. If you're not, then DON'T. There can be NOTHING in between.

Try viewing the commies statement as shorthand for “The only good insurrectionist for a tyrannical hellscape regime is a dead insurrectionist for a tyrannical hellscape regime.”

Much like “The only good child molester is a dead child molester,” it has to do with behavior and threat to innocents.

“The only good Jew is a dead Jew” has to do with ethnicity and/or religion. Neither of those traits necessitate threat to innocents.

You’re giving these attitudes false equivalence.

I don't disagree with anything you've said. I am fully aware of the malevolence of mankind, which includes myself.

But that doesn't mean it is not something we should call out when we see it, and attempt to prevent others from becoming nazis.

Imagine living in a society where nobody points this situation out before it happens... or worse, we make excuses for people who violate the civil liberties of others and say things like, "They were just following orders."
