Have you considered Eastern Orthodoxy? Similar apostolic succession to the Catholic Church without the same degree of greed, corruption, pedophilia and scrapping of sacred tradition. It’s basically the same church as the one church over 1000 years ago before the great schism.
I converted to Catholicism from Baptist. I was introduced to it when I was dating and it hung around. I found that the propaganda I was fed wasn’t holding up to scrutiny. After being yelled at for so many years it took someone to whisper to me for me to actually hear. I talked it over with my father and we had a long conversation about it. If one man on earth would worry about my soul it was him so when he said “as long as Christ is the center of their worship, for He is the way”. I even had a long talk with the Monsignor about the one thing that I had an issue with, Mary. She is not part of the catechism of the church so with that in mind I joined the Roman Catholic Church.
Well there’s a thing that the Pope can put out something and say it is the truth. They’ll tell you Popes have only done this a few times and the last time was in 1950 about the assumption of Mary. (The idea that she was taken bodily to Heaven)
Typically it’s a highly researched thing and not done lightly. Believe me when I say that as an American I am rebellious and I would be polite if I met the Pope but if he started talking shit I’d tell him to shut his socialist mouth.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen ought to be canonized as a Saint. Every lecture is so profound. You can listen to them as a podcast on your iPhone/iPad, or look him up on YouTube.
