why do your fellow ex comrades vote for shit like higher taxes and thing that they themselves can't even afford? Is it done on purpose to ruin the state or county

Funny thing. A lot of young people wanting socialism dont understand that it comes with really high tax rates. They see their first pay check and already they are confused. Mostly they think emotionally, not rationally. They have an image of an utopia that it at the other side of the rainbow, and no amount of facts can distort that view.

Delusions are powerful.

ditto to bubble bursts and Ace. in my case my support for Bernie, Obama and Bill Clinton was different. All three claimed to support things that Donald Trump has executed like a boss in a short period of time:

  1. "get tough on China" direct quote of Bill Clinton
  2. Ending outsourcing.
  3. ending illegal immigration and stating plainly that illegal immigration is the leading cause of declining wages.

Americans have bad memory.

usually it's because they strongly believe in a pet cause like universal healthcare and they're talked into believing more taxes will create it. others think it will prevent oligarchy... milton friedman describes it well: they think the economy is a zero sum game. if someone has more, it is at the expense of others.

Feels come before any critical thinking.

Does it sound good, can it make you feel like your helping and being the better person? They swallow it up and vote yes.

There is very little rational thought on the HOW and WHY aspect each thing they vote for.

"Oh, this will go to schools, and parks lets vote yes!" "Heeeey, Why did the gas go up to above $3.50 all the time?!" Shocked pikachu face

People literally have no idea how the government functions... Its sad
