Completely agree. Facebook and Twitter have been running unaccountable rings around conservatives for 3.5 years while the administration did little more than talk and warn about consequences. As a result of inaction, antisocial media have been emboldened and are going for broke on censorship.

Enough is enough. Time for Trump to do what he was put in office to do. If he doesn't have time, he can make his son Donald Trump Jr. "social media anti-censorship czar". Bring the hammer down on far-left megacorporations, especially those that shape and control public thought - before they sink his re-election odds and take the country with it.

I would actually disagree. Twitter is a private company, why are we pushing for the government to interfere with private business? I hate Twitter more than any of you (fight me!), but it's THE PEOPLE who need to stand up to Twitter, not the government.

Would you say the same thing if it was your water company selectively deciding if your house gets water?

The only water company with drinkable water in your town?

This is why anti-trusts are needed. If Twitter was one In 10,000 other companies we would not care.

However, Twitter is a public forum where people go to see information. Since they are a public forum, they need to follow anti-censorship laws just like your water company can't randomly decide not to give you water.

Twitter was over played there hand and I expect them and the rest to be removed from any legal protection they might have. Twitter needs to be labeled as a PUBLISHER and not a PLATFORM and I think that's about to happen.

Don't need to wait for any of that. We are in the middle of a declared national emergency due to COVID-19. The law gives the President enormous power during a national emergency, and it specifically addresses wire communication services, such as Twitter. Because Twitter is deliberately trying to hide life-saving information from the American people, Trump would be well within his rights to temporarily seize control of the company to prevent them from doing this.

The political fallout of doing so? That's another story.

Political fallout? Deafening applause, except the msm

DestroyerofCobwebs 2 points ago +2 / -0

From you and me, and 40% of the population, sure. I can't explain it, all I can do is guess that for some reason Trump thinks doing something will make things worse. It's frustrating for me, too.

True, he can do that but yes the political fall out would be a gift to the leftist. They would crucify him in the court of public opinion and he might actually lose some of those votes from squishy people but not his base. Can't risk that this close to an election. He can however strip them of section 230 and make them a publisher rather than a platform and that would open them up to tons of legal action without him blatantly taking over the company.

The waiting for something to be done is getting harder and harder😔

And today is day 60.

Trump gave 60 days for compliance.

Today is the first day anything can be done. And there's a hearing with Twitter tomorrow.

That just happened.

Frick_The_Dems2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

So the suspension of Don Jr by Shitter is more along the lines of retaliation because their power is being threatened.

TheYoungSpergs 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think they just feel justified to remove information that they feel is incorrect and harmful to the public. They would propably cite Fauci as their supreme authority in this. It's not clear why though since internationally maybe half of all physicians describe this medication as the most effective treatment, which propably means that it is the majority opinion.

Staatssicherheit 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yes. They should do something. But it works both ways. Imagine if there were Tea Party like rallies outside Facebook and Twitter headquarters.

Trump is one man. Too many are hiding behind his shadow and not fighting for themselves.

Shout out to Ralph Norman (R-SC) for giving a platform to the Frontline Doctors.

If no action is taken it will only get worse, it is very clear the big tech scum are under the impression they are more powerful than the US government, they are also working with China.

Go after Google's tax evasion, it also seems very obvious Jack Dorsey is either a pedophile himself or he at least aids in that practice, Twitter is party to child trafficking. Get investigating that.

People keep saying "Big tech over played their hand this time", yet no action is taken and then it just gets worse.

America and freedom go hand in hand, yet big tech censor like China does. Their CEOs have lied to congress repeatedly too.

Trump was elected to stop this shit, time to get some action underway.

Trump has to do something.Big tech is a really big beast which needs to be tamed or defeated.

4
Zippythekid 4 points ago +4 / -0

This shit has to stop. Imagine if the phone company could make arbitrary decisions about who could place a call based on their interpretation on the validity of what is being talked about?

antimatter 4 points ago +4 / -0

Or ask for patriot help to stop the violence and to get rid of these social media sites. Raize the buildings and data centers. Piece of cake.

He signed an EO in MARCH. They are defying it thus breaking the law! Let's round the fuckers up!

While I agree with you 100% that something needs to be done, it’s a very slippery slope when it comes to actually doing something. I think they want the Trump administration to “do something” so they can use their MSM to try and flip it on him.

You and I are objective.do you think your opponents or big tech monsters Would act reasonably?

Chopblock 2 points ago +2 / -0

Don’t worry, Trump got this.

There’s always a seemingly endless delay during a well-planned action, as all the routes of attack are covered and the enemy is channeled into the zone.

They’ve known about the Twitter rats for years now. I can’t wait to see the counter!

Tired of seeing this impatience. Does anyone here seriously think Trump is just being lazy or indifferent? Does anyone here think that if Trump could do something today, he wouldn't?

He is either building up to something big, or he doesn't have the power to do anything right now. I choose to believe the former. Demanding action right now because you're impatient is immature.

DeadOverRed 0 points ago +2 / -2

Wishful thinking.

2
IntrepidBurger 2 points ago +2 / -0

So which do you believe? Trump is lazy or Trump is indifferent?

Your worldview doesn't really align with reality.

DeadOverRed 0 points ago +2 / -2

Trump is wrong.

What do you imagine can be done? The RINOs don't have Trump's back. The Democrats certainly don't. Barr doesn't.

Staatssicherheit 3 points ago +3 / -0

We are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to lawyers. We need an army. The communists have their National Lawyers Guild that has been giving aide and comfort to the antifa rioters. We don't have anything similiar.

You can bet the white house lawyers are the ones advising Trump on when to go nuclear.

synd1050 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hope the lawyers know how powerful big tech is?

-4
ZincOS -4 points ago +2 / -6

What can he do?

2

Interpret this as an attack on America, and respond accordingly.
