A car enthusiast group I was once part of, after a drunken argument, used a plug-in Toro leaf blower as a supercharger on a car on a dyno. It actually did boost horsepower, but not by much.

People with access to beer, money, lawn care implements, and dynos make for interesting happenings. I think someone did Nitrous on their riding mower not long after that.
