College kids are really stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. Pay thousands of dollars for online crap or sit out a year...
Now before I get the "learn a trade or college is a waste," everyone needs to remember that some degrees do have value and you need college to work in those professions. This isn't a gender studies degree I am talking about.
It is so unethical that colleges are pretending online is worth the same tuition and are not lowering tuition costs. Imagine paying for a ticket to Disney World and then they "Surprise! We are closed for Covid. But here is a link to a video of Space Mountain! Enjoy! It is just the same really! The video of Space Mountain is worth the same price as actually coming to Disney World in person!" If that happened to anyone in charge at a college on a vacation to Disney World they would be livid, yet they are pulling this crap on students and have no problem with it. Very disgusting.
That's an apt analogy. Write up something based on that, see if you can get it signed as a petition, and it should be sent to administrations all over the Country!
Same goes for 40+ Governors, and many Mayors. Particularly in Minneapolis. Milwaukee pulled the stunt on the Police that they can't use tear gas or pepper spray. Chief of Police is Latino and reasonable. I'm not sure if he's based, but they want him fired.
Eh, I think it depends on a student’s learning style. I went to college completely online, way before it was cool. Mostly because I already had taught myself a bunch of skills and just wanted the piece of paper to prove it. Ironically my very liberal siblings gave me shit for not going to a “real school” like them. Two of them now have kids finishing their senior year of high school online now. Joke’s on them I guess.
That said, online school takes discipline and it’s not for everyone. I particularly hated all of the mandatory “discussion” posts they made us do that replaced by just showing up to class in an on-campus course.

It is unfortunate that to do the right thing a university would need a petition or a lawsuit.
