Good point, censorship proof money is the answer. Bitcoin as of now is the most secure and most censorship resistant currency in existence. Unless you want to pay your bills in gold and silver.

I wonder if a crypto-currency backed by a precious metal is feasible. I guess the physical reserves would be the attack vector for that.
You are correct. Tons of physical gold requires tanks and attack helicopters to protect. Bitcoin is protected my math and computer science.
