Pandemic isn't a valid reason considering the dems already had debates during the pandemic. Furthermore, voting against something is a losing strategy. They need enthusiasm to win and Joe doesn't get that. Joe needs more than his voters to vote for him to win. He needs moderates and undecideds. Both of which aren't enthusiastic about it. They will either vote Trump or not at all.

Never Trumpers don't need a valid reason. They would vote for a loaf of bread if it were running against Trump.

You seem to believe never trumpers are a significant part of the voter base, but they aren't.

I don't disagree with your assessment, I just think that's their strategy. But honestly I think the next few months are going to be batshit crazy and unpredictable, we'll be looking back at these conversations and thinking how naieve we were.

See Babylon Bee

Biden won the democratic primary using the same strategery.

Biden won nomination by the DNC picking him and having all other competitors drop out and endorse him. If that hadn't happened Bernie would have been the nominee, but the DNC doesn't control him so they couldn't' have that.

I want to ask "Why Biden of all the competitors?" But then I remember... all the other competitors.

Oh, wait. Now I remember Bloomberg! He had a fighting chance, except that he reminded the dems too much of DJT.
