I think that's why they're avoiding the Hillary case, because they'd have to repurpose the entire DOJ towards unravelling it and getting charges to stick on her slimy ass, without triggering any deadman switches or it blowing back in their faces. You don't go after people at this level without doing every single bit of your homework possible, and bunkering as hard as you can. This is political war, and they play mutual assured destruction style.
And, as hard as an actual criminal case would be to try, without it becoming an absolute circus, imagine selling it to the general public, with a beyond hostile media who were complicit in all of it, and who may be getting perp walked with them.
