100% agree, it's not a good host anyway. The problem is most people that use them are either lazy or have very low tech skills. I hope people realize what a threat they are and move off them.

Also they sponsor a lot of YouTube videos, I'll be disliking any future video I see that they sponsor.

Content creators don't control which ads are shown.

You should simply install an ad blocker like uBlock Origin. If you're on mobile and can't block adds, try an alternative YouTube app such as Smart YouTube TV (assuming you're on Android) or set up a Pi-Hole and block all advertising on your home network-

I made an edit to my post to make things clear. Thank you for taking the time to reply and offer help, Pedes are the best! Hope I can help you and maybe others with this reply.

I do run a fork of uBlock Origin called Nano Adblock, I run this as Nano Defender integration is built in. Nano Defender stops probing by websites to see if you have an adblocker. So on the Chrome store, install both Nano Adblock and then the Nano Defender extensions.

On Android, my phone is rooted so I run Ad-Away, it basically is a host file adblock technique but needs root. I run the Kiwi Browser on mobile which is a fork of Chrome for Android, it allows desktop extensions, so I run Nano Adblock and Nano Defender there also. However, Kiwi has not been updated for months now, sadly. Firefox on Mobile allows desktop extensions these days and UBlock Origin is available for Firefox.

As for Youtube on mobile, I like Youtube Vanced, it's a mod of the official Youtube app that blocks ads but also allows other things like background play back. There are root and non-root versions.

Tried calling them to complain but haven't been able to find a direct support number.. We really need to be knocking on their doors when stuff like this happens. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
