I could be wrong about this so correct me if i am. But black slaves didn't build anything in this country they were farm hands in the south. Some might say having slaves hindered the techincal advanves at the time becasue of the free labor.
Even if they want to argue that the slaves contributed economically through their 'free labors' most of the wealth they created for the south were destroyed by the Civil War and had nothing to do with modern America as wealthy and powerful country as everything had to be rebuild after the war by free men who were paid wages

Slavery has collasped many an empire. Slavery is a steriod that makes the state stronger at first but always ends as a weak shell it's former glory.
