I really think this is one that should be left to the states. Have him come out and say there is no constitutional basis for the federal government to regulate this substance, and tell the states to do what their populations desire on it.

That's kind of the whole point of the 10th amendment.

Yeah he doesn't have to force it on states that don't want it, just repeal the Federal ban. Smartest move.

We need to get back to that Federalist mindset of handling things at the lowest level. That which is governed locally is usually governed best (unless you are in a Blue State, it which case, I'm sorry).

There are unarguable medicinal benefits to it, even if just down to symptom alleviating/appetite encouragement for some horrible ailments. While I want it legalized recreationally, I'd gladly pass on that to see it Federally allowed only medicinally, as other prescription drugs.

I personally have had at least 5 concussions. Marijuana has helped immensely with the headaches, depression, and memory loss i used to experience. It's personal to me.

Oh yeah,, me and ole' corn pop used to smoke some weed. I remember just like it was yesterday, Tony Dorsey blasting outta' the phonograph, little black girls rubbing my hairy legs. Afterwords,, me and ole' corn pop would pig out on some sweet-sweet soul food...
