Wait, wasn't SquareSpace's first story that they took them down for spreading false or misleading information?

Now they say it's because their domain expired?

What story will they come up with next?

Their hosting 'expired', not the domain name. I dont believe a web host can "seize" a domain name because they're subject to ICANN's rules.

this. i've worked in tech for about 15 years, the first 5 directly with domains, hosting, and registration. "website expired" is not the domain expiring. they're registered via tucows. the expiry page would most likely have a tucows logo on it.
