Well I am sure there are swamp creatures but we got some fantastic people in the higher ups that make the decisions who are based as ever. Like Ajit Pai, the chairman of the FCC. Also Brendan Carr seems pretty based too, hes a commissioner of the FCC .

And then all that happened to internet services were improvements and all the people reeeing about it have completely forgot about it because social media sites stopping telling them to care.

Same is true with where the US is headed. Our neighbors and adversaries surely have contingency plans in the works to avoid antagonizing rogue elements.
