I'd like to see us shut down some bases overseas, and reduce our manpower at others. We need to reduce our overseas footprint, while still maintaining the ability to project force if it is absolutely necessary. The German bases we should keep, but maybe operate them with skeleton crews. If we need to ramp up for some reason, OK, the facilities are available.
Bringing the troops home will benefit American communities. I'm happy to see this move.
