mostly just because it always was that way, + they want to avoid people spam editing their titles once posts blow up. but many have said that a 2-5 minute window should exist at the beginning of a post.

but hey. thats life. at least theres always something to mock OP for in the comments

Or people could slow down and read their writing before posting as I have had to learn since developing a physical problem that affects my fine motor skills.
