I saw someone arguing for that the other day. That D&D should relook inherently evil races in light of modern morality moving beyond good/evil and light/dark. Insanity. Equating drow with black people is ridiculous. One is a made up fairytale race of evil beings. But somehow everything has to be about race.
What? The players handbook clearly states that humans come in many colors, black being one mentioned. Did they read their own handbook? Lol. Then again they made elves trans so I'm sadly not at all surprised.
When they made changes to the game in response to the “satanic panic” back in the 80’s, Gygax made a comment something along the line of “we are changing our game in order to appease people who will never play our game”.
