Good news! Barbasol stepped up and is filling the gap the Dorco left behind. Similar prices to what Dorco USA used to offer. I like their razors better than Dorco and Gilette. They last longer too, you could probably go 3 weeks comfortably per blade.
I buy the disposable razors in the 20-pack from CVS and each individual razor last me months. I still have a pack I bought years ago. 2 blades with a moisturizing strip and I get a nice smooth shave every time.
The the thing that causes blades to go dull is rust (not your hair), and having blades so close together means that the water doesn't completely dry and rusts up the blade. The more blades, the less it dries out. When Gilette started introducing 3, 4, and 5 blade razors, they knew what they were doing.
I switched a while back, and so glad I did. I only shave my head and their 6 blade razor is fucking amazing. They seem to last a lot longer too. I don't scalp myself like I frequently did with DSC.

Get a Badger hair brush and then Proraso Menthol soap. You're set for at least 2 years. Another pack of blades will last you another 1.5 years or longer....$7
I bought a Merkur long handle safety razor and a 100-pack of Feather blades like 8 years ago, still going strong. The only thing I've ever had to replace in that time is the shave soap. Proraso Menthol is a great choice.

I buy my blades from westcoastshaving.com. I used to use Dorco but Feather is my current favorite. Nevertheless, it's so sharp you have to be careful, especially under your nose. If you don't have a handle, I recommend a Merkur.

One tip, you have to try "Total Shaving Solution." It's this tiny bottle of oils and three drops is enough to shave with. No creams, no brush, nothing. Amazing stuff. Great for travel given the 3oz limit. Also, has a unique property of making your whiskers clump in the sink resulting in easier clean-up and a less grumpy spouse.
Just buy a straight blade and be done with all the nonsense. One high quality sharp blade is 10,000x better than 6 low quality random sharpness blades offset form your skin.
