A post in a string further down (about AOC suggesting illegal immigration isn't a crime) prompts me to ask the following question:

Why is there no provision for the immediate expulsion of any member of Congress (House or Senate) who violates their oath of office in an obvious manner?

I don't mean some drawn out legal partisan procedure where one side hopes to get enough votes to kick a member of another side's party out. That's too suceptible to bribery, chicaņery of all kinds, payoffs, tit-for-tat negotiations and whatever else these crooks can manage.

I' m talking about a provision that would state -- it's obvious you're a crook and that's all we need to know -get out!.

If there isn't such a provision -- maybe there should be.

I can't tell you how many times I've said to people that illegal immigration is, all by itself, a crime! People want to say, "They're not criminals. They just wanted a better life," and I have to say, "They became criminals the minute they crossed without permission! They start off in the country as criminals. Try crossing illegally into any other country." Then the person I'm talking to will either tell me I'm being ridiculous or some variation of that theme. I'm so sick of it. I know I'm preching to the choir, but I get so fed up with these folks.

Create petition - get signatures - pass petition - vote on petition - enforce petition

I imagine it would have to originate from either her state or county

Sadly the people who would have to create that provision are the Congress... They will never even put forth that kind of law, much less vote for it...
