Destroy them all, root and branch, break them into 1000 pieces and plow the earth with salt. Treat them as BLM faggots treat the Portland courthouse, every day for the next 6 months, until not one silicon chip is left standing next to another.
Breaking up the big tech companies will not solve the problem. Then you would just have more smaller companies censoring the public.
They need to be held accountable. Give them a choice. Either they retain editorial control over what is posted on their platforms, but they lose liability protection, or, they have no editorial control and they maintain their liability protection.
Then you would just have more smaller companies censoring the public.
No offense but this is the weakest and possibly the dumbest rebuttal to breaking up these big conpanies.
We are not communist China and do not need editorial control. The reason why they have so much control is because they have little competition.
A company that cares less about its customers yet still profits...means they have too much control and the people have no options.
The platforms underneath social media are the real obstacle. Competition cannot build their own universe of capability.
It's like asking an automaker to make all aspects of the car. If the car maker cannot buy tires well they have to go make their own tires. They need audio system but nobody will sell to them so now they have to build their own audio system. They need to sell so now they have to build dealerships. They need to transact but no bank will loan money for their cars.
MSM has complete control! FEC is part of that problem. 6 companies own all the media.
In tech it will soar. You don't realize how much of social media is not even real people. It's a toxic cesspool that kills businesses for not aligning.
We are on this site after Reddit censored us. Half of America is needing and wanting alternatives.
Agreed, but there are two problems here. One is that too much power and control is in too few hands. That can be improved by breaking up some of the largest companies (not only big tech), and not allowing so many mergers.
The other problem, specific to big tech, is that they have special liability protection that was given in exchange for them being open platforms, only they are not holding up their end of the bargain. That special protection needs to be stripped away, which would basically put Twitter and Facebook out of business, OR, they need to make the platforms totally open, essentially just utilities that have absolutely no control over the content. Breaking the companies up will not solve this problem.
Fuck giving them "choices", nuke them out of existence. When there is a smoking crater were $4 trillion used to be, future executives and investors will respect the need to respect our rights. Stop playing footsie and annihilate them, with extreme prejudice.
Insist they're "Virtual Company Towns".
They're acting as "police" in their "towns" - but the Judges are all Kangaroo courts with zero transparency or accountability.
"If you don't like the rules in this town - leave!" -> they have a pure (virtual) local monopoly.
Destroy them all, root and branch, break them into 1000 pieces and plow the earth with salt. Treat them as BLM faggots treat the Portland courthouse, every day for the next 6 months, until not one silicon chip is left standing next to another.
Can't anybody here play this game?
LET MY PEOPLE GO!!!

Simply not true. Look at the MSM. There is more competition in this space, but they all have the same agenda so it doesn't matter.
I am not against breaking up big tech companies. I think it should be done. I'm simply saying that it won't solve the problem you are trying to solve.

Agree. The government should provide USPS with integration capability so they can override the bullshit games they are playing today.

Sounds like communism.
