I simply meant to say the constitution, to me, was not violated by giving rights to women and people of color. It says “all (white) men are created equal,” was Lincoln anti-American for freeing blacks? No. We’re not meant to be minorities, but we’re also the best country of all time and we’re that way for a reason.
Lincoln freed the blacks, but he didn’t intend for them to vote, or even stay here, because he knew the two societies would never be one and would never be equal. Check out some of the text of his actual debates with Douglas if you doubt that.
