I just looked this up because I'd never heard this before. Not only were the killers regulars at a gay bar, but they knew Matthew and at least one of them had been Matthew's sexual partner before. This was absolutely not a case of some random hate filled rednecks brutally murdering a stranger for being gay.

A huge amount of the sympathy I had for the gay rights movement came from cases like this. I'm not surprised, but I am pissed off to find out how much the media has been lying to me my entire life.
