11K is a drop in the bucket for Google. Imagine if you are Google, and you want to entice politicians, you'd give them some money too, whether or not they commit to your interests. It can also poison the well and sow distrust among Republicans. There's so many possible scenarios. I am not discounting your skepticism. Jim Jordan may turn out to be beholden to Google. But I'll reserve that judgement until I see it happening.
