Biden will drop out. Having him hideaway and not say anything no matter the excuse and no matter who speaks for him will basically end his run.
Also, Trump won't care who they send out. Trump will just go on about how Biden is hiding away in his basement. That he is scared to debate him in public. The plan is to pick heels up then Biden will drop out. Heels will be moved up to full candidate even though she lost the actual candidate race (badly) and then "stunning and brave" will come into it.
They will have successfully placed a puppet socialist into the presidential race. Sanders though a cuck would have been harder to control. That's why they just gave him a free beach house again.

Hillary sucked the coffers dry, lost a BUNCH of state and Congressional seats, and then her staff ran around blaming them for the loss. But Hillary/Obama own the DNC, and shut it all down. Anyone left standing will do what the DNC says.
