Another thing you need to keep in mind, is the legal defense aspect of "I'm running for POTUS". Same reason Hillary considered embarrassing herself with another failed campaign. They want to be able to claim any investigation of them, or any prosecution, is just corrupt fascist Trump exploiting his power to persecute his innocent political enemies. etc.

which, considering what they have been and still are doing (remember shampeachment? February 5 is less than 6 months ago), is beyond ridiculous.
