I wouldnt say demons, just people with low impulse control letting their emotions rule them. Functionally acting like animals, who also let their emotions/instincts dictate what they do.
People need to be more like Vulcans.
That being said, modern liberal women do love themselves some witchcraft and magic. So they can feel like they have supernatural power over the world.
I would heartily recommend that you look into Stoicism. More logical; does not negate emotions, but not driven by them either. Works well enough with religious faith, if you lean that way.
Marcus Aurelius, the last of the great Roman emperors was a prominent Stoic and wrote down his thoughts constantly. They are published in his "Meditations". There are a couple good write ups as well with a more modern perspective: https://www.amazon.com/How-Think-Like-Roman-Emperor-ebook/dp/B07D2C5NNV
Quote from the "Stoic" app on my iPhone this morning: "Everyone prefers belief to the exercise of judgement. -- Seneca". That was written over 2000 years ago. Human nature has not changed in the least.
