Look at the states like NC where masks are required everywhere when you leave your house. Except for where you can social distance.
These states have had the rule in place for well over 1-2 months and the cases of covid have continued to spike. NY has a drop in cases because they have herd immunity now because so many were exposed early on.
Not only that but places like NYC and areas with higher population density have faster transmission. Social distancing "makes sense" in that the more people you have close to each other, the faster viruses are spread. This is why everyone got sick at the beginning of boot camp, this is why we all got sick the first few days of a deployment on the boat, and this is why after a long flight many get a "cold".
I think an optimistic look at the mask mandates, just trying to be positive, is that they're really about the psychology and not the prevention of the viruses. Make people "feel safer" for a, hopefully, positive psychological outcome.
The only issue is, covering people's faces makes people not see other people AS PEOPLE but as empty entities.
Maybe but it seems to be making everyone afraid of everyone else. And what about children? That can't be good for them? How many germaphobes will come out of this? PA I believe said everyone will be wearing masks until there is a vaccine? What does that imply you have to wear a mask unless you have the vaccine. A vaccine that probably will have a higher death rate for people then covid (especially those under 70 in comparison...and in children the death rate is almost non existent but I am supposed to give my kids a vaccine that has a chance of death and side effects?). 80% of people on Gates's vaccine trials had mild to severe side effects but 80% of covid people are asymptomatic. Why would you get a vaccine where you have a higher chance of side effects and probably will have a higher chance of death then the actual virus? It makes no sense. This is purely political and about control and money made off vaccines.
