I just received a mail in ballot from my state of Mass. Does this mean I can mail in my vote on election day, then go to a polling station and vote again? How is this secure?

I find it ironic that we as a society are so paranoid about security that I have to show an ID to get on a bus to another city, but election security, no big deal. We're being played, people (I know, preaching to the choir)
