This is something I've been thinking the past couple of days: So in the 1990's there was somewhat of a movement where kids of well off parents would go and be homeless just because, not because they were actually struggling but to get a taste of it. (The WCW/ECW wrestler Raven incorporated this trend into his in-ring character) it was kind of a trend at the time. The same thing is happening now with liberal millenials/older liberal zoomers (97-2000 born). They have their live the best it could ever be. Many of them can fuck off to college and major in theater or English or something because their parents are well off and will send them money if they need it. So, instead of having actual struggles, they create the struggles. The thing is that racial minorities aren't legitimately oppressed in America anymore, women aren't oppressed in America anymore, homosexuals aren't oppressed in America anymore so they have to create new oppression. They have to make Speedy Gonzalez (who side note: when Loony Toons tried to get rid of the character 20 years ago, it was actually the Mexican Americans that fought to keep Speedy on the show) an issue, they have to make Spider-Man being a straight, white Protestant an issue, they have to make up the wage gap and make that an issue, they have to make cops existing on a children's show an issue, they have to make a white guy voicing Apu an issue. And why? Because just like Raven, they had everything they needed and need an imaginary struggle in their lives.
