Im just curious what your stances are on it.

Im for a total ban for all such activity without police having an active criminal threat they're looking for, and the ability for people to pursue civil litigation against civilians who follow people with drones, record faces without permission, and track people.

We've done more for surveillance statism than East germany. All we're missing is the recording of people in private conversations at home, but any private conversation you have in public could easily be recorded someday soon. They can even record your conversation by using a detector that measures the vibration of window panes in a room.

Imagine every waking moment of your life when you step outside of your house is being recorded.

Why wouldnt it go there when we've already allowed it to go so far unchecked.

If you have a smart phone your conversation at home is being recorded

I know. AT&T is moving to 5G network and will require all people to upgrade to smart phones. Wonder why.

We should not be investigating people or collecting any information on people. We should be investigating crimes. Period.

As the technology is cheap, inevitably we are looking at a future where everything we do in public will be recorded and tracked. Like the UK basically has cameras at every intersection. It will happen because there is no expectation of privacy while in public. I think the tech will be put in place when our government does the next big infrastructure package.

I want the police to round up all the commies, even using this stuff, before I care to take a look at any of this. Priorities.

i do care but really, for joe and jane citizen, not really.

most folks in the US drive to work. the grocery and then home.

that facet alone drives the whole country. people going to work.

yes it could be used in politically nefarious ways.

but really. if someone wanted to get you, they wouldnt need these things.

its a waste of time to try to watch normal folks live their lives.

but yeh. its a double edged sword.

i see it being used rather well against domestic terrorists.

We didn’t care about any of the stuff Snowden revealed. Why would we care about this?
