If the democrats win our country will basically devolve into a twatter comments section.

Additionally, does anyone else notice that only conservatives tend to get deplatformed for being nasty to others? All these liberals do the same day in day out and they're untouchable apparently.

It feels like we're already there, unfortunately

Agreed!

We’ve noticed for years, friend.

Who'd have thought a platform filled with screeching morons wouldn't be a great place to have rational discussion?

Twitter comments are the result of shutting down our mental health institutions.

Change my mind.

2% of all accounts do 99% of all new tweets

Back in the day you griped to your family at the dinner table, or your friends at the poker table or knitting circle or whatever the hell it is that you do. That was about the extent of your voice. The dedicated would write letters to the editor and sometimes they'd get published, sometimes people would respond weeks later. The truly dedicated stood on busy street corners shouting insanity. The point is that ones voice only extended about as far as someone could hear you, and for good reason. Most people are morons. He'll, 21% of the population are functionally illiterate, these people shouldn't be heard. Twitter though man, anybody with a computer can hide behind their keyboard and spout off things that if said to someone's face would end with that person getting punched in the face. People have forgotten the true consequences of running their mouths. Now its all about getting people fired, doxxing, death threats. Fuck Twitter.

The problem isn't that they spout off said things, the problem is that people believe them and repeat like morons.

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 12:6)

“But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36–37)

I believe this also applies to texts and tweets.

I tried it long before Trump was president and never understood why it was popular. Most of what was on there at that time were inane posts from people like what lunch they were eating or what movie they just watched.

The only thing it is still somewhat useful for is for finding eyewitness reports of news events. So when shootings take place in Murderapolis, I can usually find a report from someone about it.
