They need to talk to soldiers at all levels to find out what is really going on. That place has been a violent, dirty cesspool for years only time I ever heard gunshots in traffic was in Killeen and I’ve been a few places.

When I was there I remember a group of drug addicts that were “in process” of being kicked out for over a year. They just fucked about all the time. One guy showed up to formation high out of his mind and that group did grow while they were there.
Want to fix that real quick? Grab the Officers and Staff NCO's from an SOF unit and bring them in to run things for a few months. They won't put up with shit, and they won't tolerate any "that's the way we've always done it" idiocy.
Give them discretion on whether to NJP/Courts Martial or to fix things "off the books" during that period. Many shitbags are one good "come to Jesus" away from being a stellar troop, they just need that one good swift kick in their ass to make it happen.

I was well on my way to being a problem early in my Marine career, and a particularly hard-assed Gunny utterly destroyed me when we were PT'ing together on a deployment and said "The reason I don't like you is because all I see when I look at you is potential and no progress". For some reason that clicked with me, and I locked down and went hard at my job and training from that point on.
Fort Hood’s leadership is a cancer. Honestly the base’s size might be a part of it. When you have 65,000 soldiers, you can remove a few thousand but the cultural cancer will just regrow.

It’s almost strictly a front line combat MOS base, tons of infantry, armored, artillery, helicopter, etc. so you run into two kids of army soldiers
The first group actually wanted their jobs, they are typically alright
The second group was placed into their job they didn’t want because they didn’t have the ASVAB score or something else. This group is large. These are usually the miserable fucks.
Then you have Killeen. Killeen, Texas is poor, a top 5 per capita violent crime filled city, tons of drugs, tons of ex soldiers with zero real life skills and ptsd (this was one of the main bases for the wars in the past two decades), the divorce rate through the roof, billboards advertising paternity tests and divorce lawyers, no jobs outside of retail/service/military, infrastructure is shit, DUIs galore, school system is complete garbage
There are tens of thousands more men than women in this town.
For all the maneuver units, there is an even larger logistics train behind them, too. They are usually lower ASVAB individuals and are over-represented by minorities.
All of the think tank "rebellion against tyrants" scenarios that I have read say that only about half of the military is expected to turn their back on their tyrant masters and side with the American patriots. And I bet most of those who side with the American Patriot are those ones who love America and all she stands for. The remaining numbers who side with the tyrants are probably only there for the paycheck.
Army is full of literal gangsters. As in actual members of street gangs who get in and use their government connection and cover to engage in various illicit activities.
So, I appreciate women and I appreciate how they can be super intelligent and capable and contribute massively to our country.
But, I don't understand the constant push to integrate the sexes. Why the fuck was a man able to even walk into a shower where a female was showering? I mean, what the fuck? If there are men and women in mixed deployment, then they should have separate facilities, or barring that, separate times. There should be locks on the doors when you are in vulnerable situations where you can't easily defend yourself. This is just plain common sense.

Barracks rooms in the army are separated by gender (you might live next door to a male but not in the same room with them) and keys are strictly controlled. The room occupants will be given a key to only their room and the rest of the keys are locked up somewhere usually which means you have to get NCO approval to go unlock someone's room. However, you can't stop a soldier from just leaving their door propped open to let passersby come chill. Barracks are like a big party on the weekends.
This wasn't on deployment. For some perspective I hear in the Navy females have their own section of the ship and a NCO who guards the entrances into the section. No boys allowed period. I knew some firefighters in the Air Force. They had a female in the firehouse working and sleeping. She got a nice big private bunk room that had it's own hallway and shit. They were told any male firefighters seen within 20 feet of her space would get instant official punishment from the commander. No questions asked, no exceptions, didn't even matter if she was gone. No males with in 20 feet of her hallway or you're done.
Is there a similar case to this even with a Hispanic woman in the service that happened in North Carolina like five or six years ago?
The boyfriend killed her and then buried her underneath a fire pit and had a giant bonfire with all their friends over and barbecued over top of the woman’s burning body. Believe it all happened on a military base as well right?
Deny military funeral and benefits to the killers and their families. This behavior starts at home. Root out the problem. Don't waste taxpayer dollars on life in prison. Execute the accomplice.
SPC Guillen was being sexually harassed by at least one superior enlisted soldier shortly before her murder. She told her mother about it and stated he does it to many women and never gets in trouble for it. She may have been trying to stop the harassment off the books or even threatened to make an official report. We may never know the full truth now.
