I'm surprised. I thought the influx of of people these last 20 years would have screwed things up.

I grew up in Parker County waaaayyyy back when.

My Ancestors farmed and lived in Parker County. With no slaves. My dad still remembers his sore cotton picking hands.

There is a historical marker on 180 just outside on the way to Mineral Wells. It used to read of the Light Family massacre, now they are mentioned but it has a different title. My great-grandmother was a young girl when her family was attacked by Comanches there on July 4th. Her and only one or two others lived - she saw her parents scalped and murdered, her baby sister's brains bashed out against a tree. My father remembered her telling the story to her grandchildren and showing the scars where she was shot by arrows.

My mother picked cotton out in West Texas as a child, out by Anson.

We sure have some "white privilege", don't we?

You must realize that Texas and the South were all very conservative Democrats until the left wing lunatic fringe took over the Dem party - the 1968 riots, the anti-Vietnam demonstrations, then nominating McGovern in 72. Reagan completed the transformation. That paper was founded back in the 1800's. Democrats then are not like the Democrats of today.
