The logic is flawed (or over simplified). Lockdown save lives. The problem is they cost more than they save and this ignores the economic costs.
So "saving one life" is a wrong perspective. We've seen that masks cost lives too (due to medical reasons). And we've seen that masks help ANTIFA / MLB / bad people hide their faces. It also depersonalizes people. etc. We've also seen countless examples such as the guy vaping with the mask on that demonstrates that the "help" that masks do at preventing the spread is extremely minimal.
HCQ, when taken correctly, costs a tiny tiny tiny number of problems but clearly saves lives -- over 50% by the Ford study.
I wish they had that stance on illegal immigration.
Can we have a conversation about how many lives are worth it, cause we could all stop driving and it would save lives, no doubt, but we aren't doing that. So the 1 life thing is a falacy.
Trump should strongly recommend masks. Then they will stop.
I can't think of any argument that people make which I hate more than the "worth it if it saves even one life" argument. Literally everything we do in this country results in at least one death. Mining, manufacturing, farming, driving, etc. Can you imagine someone saying "If outlawing swimming saves even one life then it's worth it?" or "If forcing everyone to wear a bike helmet any time they're awake saves even one life then it's worth it?"

Probably going to get downvoted to oblivion for saying this, but you can’t really compare the two. A mask poses zero harm to the wearer, as in the mask itself can not cause harm. Hydroxychloroquine does have the potential to cause harm, however. Just like any medication, some people may just react aversely to it or accidentally take too much. Seems the trials done with it have proven that it is generally ineffective and therefore not worth the side effects or risk it may carry to some people. Masks don’t have side effects or risks.
wrong. Masks lead to face touching and the collection and recycling of airborne pollution and organisms. I wear glasses. Most masks leak enough air to fog them. This is recycled air which normally would be expelled freely, but instead is trapped between glasses and eyeballs. You absolutely cannot prove no harm is done.
