He didn't finish most of his college. The time he was there he spent playing cards all night. He thought he was good. The other part of the time he and Paul Allen used the college's computers without permission to emulate a CPU so they could write their BASIC programming language which they then sold. Back then computer time was time-shared and the costs were ginormous.

When they created the company because Paul Allen was an employee of (I think) MITS he had a diminished share in the company Paul and Bill formed. Only, a couple of weeks later Bill Gates too was an employee of MITS and the shares were not re-negotiated.

When Paul Allen was diagnosed with cancer and thought to be on his death bed, Ballmer and Gates conspired about how to gain his shares of stock.

All three of them would scream at each other incessantly to the point that Paul just had enough and left. Gates used to sit and rock back and forth and his retort to employee suggestions that he didn't like was more often than not "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard".

Bill Gates also staged a fight scene at a beach party where he supposedly decked some guy who was being aggressive. This was later told to be a set up staged fight to make the employees look at him differently.

Gates used to drive at reckless speeds and terrorize those that rode with him. People that came in from out of town who rode with him were terrorized. His car was full of empty milk cartons that he threw in the back seat and never cleaned so it smelled awful.

He got arrested for reckless driving.

He moved the business to Washington State because he thought due to the constant raining that'd keep employees inside and working. His company was also responsible for getting programming jobs exempt from overtime pay.

He and Paul Allen both broke into a company's computers by hacking it and got caught. They weren't punished, instead they were hired as security experts.
