He trapped him logically and he knew it. Hes in on it, for this bullshit answer. Any reasonable person would say no.

EDIT: why is is so hard for him to admit it? Because he knows he cant answer it honestly without hurting the agenda.

A better lawyer than Jordan would have sealed the logic trap:

"Is a protest a crowd of people?"

Quite a shame that was not asked.

EXACTLY. That is the logical "if that then this" question. Seems odd it wasn't asked.

He reiterated the point enough it achieved goal I’d say but yeah that was one of the things I expected him to ask to seal it, but it’s obvious enough

Yeah I wish Jordan was a bit more disciplined with the questioning. Not that it was a bad job, it could have been a little tighter. I think also it would have been better if he put more emphasis on Fauci having no problems giving his medical opinions out when it comes to our lives or the operations of businesses.

Yeah he did a good job and any rational person can see how full of shit Fauci is from this. But he definitely could have forced Fauci to directly admit that a protest is a crowd of people. I also felt that the asides bringing up the violence were unnecessary and not relevant to the point trying to be made here.

Yeah I normally am a fan of Jordan but he sorta dropped the ball here. Don't ask about the burning down and attacking police officers, that's not related to Fauci's area.

Just trap him, say why is one crowd OK and another isn't? You're ok shutting down business, should we shut down the protest? When he dodges the question just tell him he's being disingenuous. Jordan kept getting sidetracked.

THANK YOU! The entire time I was like... just ask him if a protest is a crowd of people!!

That's what I kept waiting for him to ask.

Jim jordans is really good at pulling off that logic trap style of questioning. It's very fun to watch.

You can read between the lines and he's saying that the protesting is spreading it more than some guys working out at a gym, but he can't say it directly.

Because he is dishonest and a hack

Admitting so would undermine the narrative. Can't have pesky truth get in the way of that.

Because he's a partisan hack and I can't believe that the CDC isn't somehow under the Executive branch, meaning Trump could (and should) just fire his ass.

Reality is he doesn't have any scientific evidence to say it does or it doesn't because proper studies on the topic were not allowed. From a strictly scientific standpoint I could potentially understand his answer. HOWEVER, I think what Jordan is mostly pointing out is the blatant hypocrisy about Fauci advocating shutting down all of these other things but not riots. Also the fact that there is ALSO no scientific evidence to indicate masks are helpful.

Truth be told the clip looks like two morons talking to me. Jordan could have made a much clearer point, and Fauxci could have at least been intellectually honest since in one realm he's sticking to purely scientific evidence but then ignoring it in another.

Long story short Fauci is a moron and possibly corrupt. Jordan is trying to make a point, but he's not making it as well as he could.

All jim Jordan was doing was bringing to light over and over that Fauci is politically compromised.

I agree. Whether you agree or not, he's already legitimate in the eyes of the state. He isn't there to give personal takes. Jordan is making him look sympathetic here, demanding he make a statement that is by all accounts outside the jurisdiction of his position. If you want to make headway address the positions he is allowed to comment on.

Fauci gives an answer to a question he wasn't asked to have deniability later on. The jackass is a politician first and foremost. If he was being objective, he should've just answered along the lines of, "Yes, the protests are creating crowds and spreading the virus. They need to stop, at least for the time being." Instead, he deflects and waits for the time to run out by talking about crowds in general.

His smirk and refusal to call out the street riots as contributing to covid spread sure seems like a Democrat response.

It would have been even more effective if Jordan had listed specific instances and dates where fauci had called for prohibitions on other activities, and then threw in the question about rioting.
