There have been studies on asymptomatic transmission though. It had been shown to be very rare. Therefore masks are unnecessary if it's all about the "asymptomatic" threat.

Turns out they should have done that study since ventilators were killing people, not a 60+ year old approved drug with an extremely well documented safety profile.
The WHO, CDC, NIH, FDA etc receive billions of dollars, yet failed to conduct conclusive testing of face masks vs the public. No pharma profit in it for one.
