That's a really good point and one I've never considered. Joe Biden is their "best" candidate who came at least pretend he's a moderate and try to distance himself from all the rioting. All the other front runners on the stage were/are more publicly to the left. If someone like Bernie Sanders (Or Chief Warren) was the nominee absolutely no one would believe he doesn't support the riots unless he suited up in riot gear and personally launched tear gas in Portland.
