Can someone remind me what the protests are about?
Started with George Floyd... But the cops that killed him are in jail, right?
Now, the primary protest argument is... What? The closest I can get to an answer is
"We are protesting the treatment of protesters"
So, by protestors escalating, and police officers pushing back, protesters get to cry "FOUL!" and protest more?
That seems a lot like
"The Beatings will Continue until Morale Improves!"
From what I see a protest needs to have a clear goal and follow basic rules of decency. A large gathering of people with no clear goal will default to anger and destruction, which is exactly what we have been seeing in Portland for 60+ days now.
George Floyd died from a methamphetamine and fentanyl overdose...that's why he couldn't breathe. Once that came out they had to pivot.
I've watched so many streams for weeks now and can tell you....these "protesters" have an agenda that is being fed to them by Communist activists.
These Communist activist groups are well funded. They engage in constant cultish brainwashing and thought stopping techniques. The constant chants alongside peer pressure keeps people from being free thinking individuals and forces them to repeat the same slogans again and again and again. Until their mind is filled with the ideas the Communist terrorist activists want them to think and believe. It is an old tactic, and very disturbing to watch if you know the signs to look for.
"Black lives matter" is a racist statement... Not on it's own but when realized within the context that ONLY black lives matter and every other race cannot proclaim the same without being branded as racist. Of course black lives matter...but so do white, pink, blue, purple, yellow etc...lives matter. All lives matter. But they cannot let people proclaim this because they have an agenda.
These groups organizing these "protests " are seditious, treasonous, and terroristic. They absolutely should be deemed domestic terrorists and have their assets seized, and anyone supporting them be jailed as domestic terrorists or sympathizers. Only then will it stop.
That's what I thought as well. Then during my daily dose of masochism I checked the Portland sub-reddit to see the new outrage for the day and saw this video.
Where a "single mom" rants at the Feds that she is tired and can't spend her time with her children to protest George Floyds death because he called out "Mama". She goes on a long rambling rant that makes zero sense honestly.
There are always "useful idiots". People who don't have a purpose in life. Who want or need drama or a reason for their existence. Cults and activist groups are chock full of these types of people, and if they gain some random stragglers along the way well that's better for them. There are so many testimonials from former activists and cultists that will tell you very similar stories on how they were initiated into them and before they knew it were full blown believers in the cause or movement.
After they leave the group they realize just how much they had been brainwashed by the group. And almost always regret the choices they made while they were a part of it.
These groups used "mom's" for example as optics. A lot of those "moms" were a part of the groups and recruited other "non group member" moms because they needed the "peaceful" and "sympathy" optics. It's complicated, and disturbing how these groups operate. Awareness of their tactics and educating people is the best way to fight back against most of these groups.
Also from the Portland area and honestly, I'd say you answered it yourself. I think chaos and destruction are exactly what the protests are about.
Anything else is just a thin excuse, and if you resolve their complaints they will just invent more for the sake of continuing their self-righteous chaos. They won't be reasoned with - stubbornly so. I know a few people who have actively supported/showed up to some of these "protests" and advocated violence despite a history of supposed pacifism. Suddenly they don't care what anyone, even their fellow protestors, have to say.
*But what if this hyper-specific conclusion you've come to is wrong? * "NO. It's exactly what I think it is." (actual response I've gotten from a couple of them, zero argument just a refusal to even consider anything but hate)
They just want to break things and feel justified in doing it. No point in trying to make sense of it. Because it doesn't make sense at its root. Lies never do.
Lats I heard was "the protests are over, this is now insurrection". There has been no point at all to any protest since at least Occupy Wallstreet. These are just demented fools with nothing better to do than let a mob bring meaning to their useless lives. Furthermore I would say that since Floyd I have yet to see one protest outside of the conservative ones that seek to open states. Those have been considered terrorism when in fact the BLM protests are exactly that. Again, never seen a protest, only rioting and that is illegal.
