He was dishing out the black pills like crazy today. First this, then he went on a rant about how conservatism is dead. Then he talked about how people are pulling support from Trump because of yesterday's "maybe we should postpone the election" tweet.
It seems like all of his negativity is coming from the Pew poll stating 60 something percent of people polled are pro BLM. Rush needs to heed his own advice and stop talking all of these polls for gospel. The psyop has him big time.
Maybe all of the cancer treatments are just doing a royal number on him?
He's definitely going through a lot mentally and physically, so I'm sure that's a factor, but even super optimistic people like me have those "black pill" days.
All of this insanity can just get overwhelming sometimes, even for Rush.
I was glad the one called called in right after the rant to remind him of people like Candice Owens. I desperately wanted to call in and tell him that if conservatism is falling apart, the left has gone completely off the rails and is on fire at this point. The right is dealing with in fighting, but we are missing just how out of touch and broken the left currently is. They are courting a base that is so disgusted with them and the system at large that it's not a guarantee that any of those people will go vote, let alone vote Biden.
The left is absolutely broken. This "insanity" is really death throes of a decades-long attempt at turning the US into a socialist country. That effort was completely turned upside down by Trump winning the election.
They thought they were close and found out they were further away than before Obama.
So you have a split between those pushing for literal revolution, not willing to start over the process, and those who've just given up.
The net effect is that they're tearing apart any gains they made by showing their true nature to the public, and shredding the Democrat party in the process.
I don't expect the Democrat party to survive this, not without some serious upheaval. What I suspect will happen is a "social Democrat" party will split out of it and the old Democrat party will finally die off over a decade or so.
Keep in mind it wasn't even 9 months ago that the worst thing Pelosi could do was rip up the SOTU speech. Now she's openly making vague threats about getting rid of Trump and Pence. That's not a thing people who are in control of a situation do.
Not to mention just last year AOC and Pelosi were at each other's throats. I just say a news blip the other day where Pelosi said she admires AOC. What caused the about face?
Even the most optimistic can get down from time to time in the middle of this mess.... I agree. I didn't hear his entire show today but I didn't get that negative of a vibe. Trumps tweet about the election is just messing with them as usual.... I think he's making the Democrat voters demand on time secure voting. And just giving the media and politicians something to go crazy about!
I can attest to this. I also try my damnedest to stay positive but there are some days I just can't do it and find it all hopeless. Our country and way of life is on the line and we're up against evil people who will do anything possible to win so it's natural to feel negative some days.
When it seems bleak, I always gotta remind myself "yeah, but people elected Trump".
No matter what the "polls" say, what the news says, any shenanigans and voter fraud, Trump still was elected.
And that alone is what everyone should remember. And frankly, the things that got him elected have gone to ludicrous speed from the Democrats. It would be entirely bizarre for Trump to not be reelected considering the results last time.
The "silent majority" is a real thing. Nobody wants to deal with being called a racist or anything like that, so most people just don't talk about politics. They go into the booth, cast their vote, get their sticker, and don't say a word about who they voted for.
I love Rush!!! I think you're right about his treatment getting to him. He is not as quick as he used to be. Totally understandable, and I'll continue praying for him.
Chemo tries to kill you at the same time it tries to kill the cancer. The way you feel is almost indescribable even on a "good" day. Plus, "chemo brain" makes your wits less sharp, and though he's still sharp as a tack he's noticing the difference.
Cancer treatment is kicking his ass. Hard. And he's trying to stay optimistic for the 65+ million of us who love him. That's a heavy load to carry, even for El Rushbo.
Or should I say "Ali Limbali"? That's my favorite skit in his bumper rotation. "Hamas No Hamas, Ali!"

But we will win.

2016 proved that.

Chemo brain usually goes away. The memory of it doesn't, and it's a really scary thing to go through.
We walked with my Dad through five years of pancreas cancer treatments. Ask me anything. :)
