Putting aside the mail in fraud, are we actually, finally going to see the Post Office die in our lifetimes? Thank you Jesus.

I walked into a post office once in Maryland and there were three people at the counter, literally asleep.

A stamp costs more pennies than the iq of my typical post office cashier...

just file them all and privatize the service, work with fedex to add some of the services and bam you actually have a functional mail service instead of the useless post office.

Fedex already does all of their job anyway besides the literal delivery of personal mail. The Post Office transports their bulk mail by hiring FedEx planes to do it.

There is zero justification for their existence.

It's not even a matter of privatizing it. It's a matter of un-outlawing everyone else from carrying personal letters.

The majority of USPS' business comes from unsolicited mail. They literally do not serve their ostensible function.

Why do you want the post office to die? It's pretty important for anyone trying to conduct business

Why do you want the post office to die?

A bunch of reasons. They have horrendous service, they are literally a government mandated monopoly, they're a tremendous waste of money, they're horrifyingly inefficient, their employee pension scheme is practically theft, and in general they do not and have never deserved to exist.

They only exist at all because the government made it illegal for anyone else to compete with them.
