Maybe he's just a poor bastard who somehow got into a relationship with that disabled jogger black woman. He felt so bad about her that he thought he should do something in BLM for her.
Even without any gun, any driver in that situation is justified in using lethal force. Driving away is better IMHO, but the AK at point blank range pointing straight at him clarified to the driver what his target should be.
