Both the driver and the "protester" who fired at the car as it departed the scene, were interviewed by police, had the guns they used taken as evidence, and were promptly released. No information yet on what the "protester" told police as plausible justification for firing at a moving car in a crowded situation, when the driver had done nothing but fire in self-defense.
He must have said something that passed for plausible justification. But it's hard to imagine what. Perhaps claiming that he was trying to stop the car because he thought it was trying to hit other "protesters", even though firing in that situation posed a huge risk of unintentionally hitting another person (other than the driver) and a very low likelihood of stopping the car in a way that would reduce harm to people in its path. Maybe he admitted that in hindsight it was a bad decision, but at the time, he'd thought the driver had fired offensively rather than defensively, and was trying to drive offensively into "protesters". And he could still be charged.
Well I hope he's charged! Seems like a lost cause, it being Austin? That's the place to watch this weekend, see if they set up a CHOP in front of APD HQ, or if the real murderers make their move. Shit is escalating ...

I don;t understand why this second shooter wasn't charged for shooting at a fleeing car. And the final, 9th shot, is omitted.
